Future entrepreneurs met when they were working together at a tech company. In 2001 Jessica Rovello and Kenny Rosenblatt were out on a date when they started talking about the arcades of their childhood. Inspired by a game of Ms. Pac-Man they decided to start a company together to develop online games.

The company is headquartered in New York City and until 2014 they had an office with a 100-person team in Ukraine. At that time, the company was growing healthily—Arkadium had received a $5 million Series A investment in 2013, but after the Russians annexation of the Crimea Arkadium ended up finding a solution by moving the studio, with all its employees who could make the move, to Krasnodar in southern Russia.

In September 2018, Arkadium used its profits to buy out the investors, allowing the company to remain independent and grow on its own terms. Arkadium games were played 830 million times in 2018.

Now, Arkadium boasts a stable of more than 300 online casual games, Facebook games and mobile games. In September 2018, Arkadium used its profits to buy out the investors, allowing the company to remain independent and grow on its own terms. Arkadium games were played 830 million times in 2018.
